I think you should stop to consider this game as a typical game with a quest book where you can do all your quest in order and have your reward. It's nice to have completely different adventures when you replay the game with different party members with different tags. If tags had no impact they would be rather useless. Why is that weird? It's the whole point of the tag systems, to open up quests in different ways. Altough i also wondered a long time what some books meant with "Only a Scholar could understand that".
And nobody can teach us this ancient language or help with books. But, I think, that's little bit weird if only 1 tag can be so important and block 4 quests in 1 location. Is it possible to made this quests instead of this tag? Or and maybe more quests just ended without start for us? In our party nobody of us have Scholar tag.
Blood Isle quests also need Scholar tag - to talk with tree, to understand books and to understand Anathema. Natali Bromhead can be saved only with Scholar tag.
